Session notes – 10/12/2020

In the wake of reliving the ancient memories of a being that betrayed all his comrades to death for revenge, the party came back to their own consciousness, exhausted, in Duracell’s lair.

The copper dragon explained that the person whose past they had seen is now a powerful undead wizard, as well as being the seeming head of the Temple of the Cleansing Flame. His dark deeds in the centuries old war on the other side of the world were so heinous that he caused other planes of dread and fell magic to bleed through into the world magically scarred sites of hideous evil.

Furthermore, Belaya awakened the dragon Cyclopane on this side of the world.

Now, the party are the only living creatures with the knowledge of Belaya’s true name. Duracell in fact refused to even hear it, fearful of his ability to survive should he become a target for possessing such dangerous knowledge.

The temple’s seat of power is in Direitodade, and Duracell initially advised the party to travel there and investigate what Belaya Smert’s current identity is. He gave the party a circlet of persuasion and some dimensional shackles to aid this mission.

The party, meanwhile, had questions about Cyclopane and the forest creatures that could potentially be recruited to join the fight against that ancient wyrm, as well as the Sirines that the Son of Morris learned of in the Pearl.

After some banter with the dragon about the possibilities, the party decided that the Gnomes of the forest would probably make good allies against Cyclopane…

…but they would prefer to investigate the last Sirines first.

Accordingly, the party teleported back to their keep to plan an expedition back to Beholder controlled ocean territory to search for them.

The kobolds were sent by portal to the mansion in Salvador, bringing coal iron and silver to trade and work, and emissaries sent to shipwrights to begin building a vessel worthy of the hunt. The adventurers set about recruiting likely types to join them, and laid in provisions for the journey…
